Industrologic, Inc., announces the release of their SS422, an RS-422 converter for Industrologic products.
The SS422 converts the RS-232 port on Industrologic products into an RS-422 port, providing these products with an industrial standard communication interface capable of extended wiring lengths and increased reliability.
The small printed circuit board assembly connects directly to the host product's RS-232 connector and power pin, thereby avoiding the additional wiring and power supply connections that a "universal" RS-232 to RS-422 converter requires.
The pinout on the RS-422 connector is wired as a SMPTE "Slave", making it easy to wire the converter to a SMPTE "Master".
The SS422 utilizes a common RS422/RS-485 line transceiver chip and includes a jumper selectable termination resistor for the RS-422 receive signals.
The converter package comes complete with the printed circuit board assembly and a hardware reference manual containing wiring diagrams and the circuit schematic.
