Industrologic, Inc., announces the release of their OEM51-IO RS-232 Relay and Digital Input Board.
The OEM51-IO is a software option for the Industrologic OEM51 microcontroller board and was designed to create a simple and inexpensive RS-232 data acquisition and control board. By receiving a short sequence of normal alphanumeric characters, the OEM51-IO can control the on-board relay and LED, and can read the opto-isolated interrupt input and on-board switch.
The OEM51-IO software includes two easily selectable modes of operation. One is a mode that returns a minimum of ASCII characters for easy interpretation by the device sending it commands. Another mode includes a complete menu and prompt system to facilitate testing with a terminal program.
The OEM51-IO is shipped with all of the items needed to quickly and immediately connect it to a PC compatible computer and begin reading and controlling I/O: The OEM51 microcontroller board with the OEM51-IO software option installed, a wallblock power supply, an RS-232 cable, and a reference manual.
The OEM51 is available as a complete circuit board assembly, and can be enclosed in an optional ABS plastic enclosure. The circuit board is 3.3 by 1.95 by 0.6 inches, while the enclosure is 2.8 by 5.0 by 1.0 inches total size including mounting tabs.
