Industrologic, Inc., announces the release of their DR51 Single Board Computer.
The Industrologic DR51 is an Atmel AT89C4051 microcontroller based single board computer designed to provide a digital I/O and relay package that can be used as a programmable industrial controller or as an RS-232 slave.
The board can be programmed as a standalone controller using its on-board Tiny Machine Basic programming language, or it can be used as an RS-232 slave for reading numerous types of I/O signals and controlling relays.
Included in the Tiny Machine Basic language is instructions that allow easy interface to 3 by 4 and 4 by 4 switch matrix keypads. These instructions allow the DR51 to be programmed as an access control device or as a universal keypad encoder.
The DR51 is based on the Atmel AT89C4051 microcontroller chip with EEPROM program memory, and can be reprogrammed using any number of software development tools and device programmers available for Atmel microcontrollers.
Communication with the DR51 is accomplished via a serial RS-232 port with true RS-232 interface and a DB9F connector that matches a PC compatible serial port pinout.
Convenient screw terminal block connections are used for all signals and power, which includes two 10 amp Form "C" relays and eight logic levels signals usable as inputs or outputs.
The digital I/O signals, along with power and ground, are also connected to a .1 inch male header connector to make connection to I/O devices with matching connectors such as keypads quick and easy.
The DR51 is available as a complete circuit board assembly, and can be enclosed in an optional ABS plastic enclosure. The circuit board is 2.75 by 4.25 by 0.75 inches, while the enclosure is 3.6 by 6.0 by 1.6 inches total size including mounting tabs.
The DR51 package is shipped complete with all items necessary to immediately begin application development, including a serial port cable for connection to a PC compatible computer, a wall block power supply, host computer software and programming examples, and hardware and software reference manuals.
